The Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) was founded in 2008 by the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science in Peking University. The IICT consists of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks, Center for Wireless Communications and Signal Processing, and Center for Satellite Communications. The IICT is dedicated to the innovation, research and development for the next generation communication technologies. IICT’s faculty includes 13 full professors, 20 associate professors, 4 professorate senior engineers, and 3 senior engineers. Among them, there are 1 CAS Member, 3 Changjiang Scholars, 2 winners of State Major Research Plan Funds for Basic Research, 1 recipient of Distinguished Young Scholars of NSFC, 2 recipient of Excellent Young Scientists of NSFC, and 1 Changjiang Young Scholar .

The research at the IICT is focused on the advancement and application of optical, wireless and satellite communications. Three major research topics are 1) the HINOC (High Performance Network over Coax) technology; 2) wireless medical and the same frequency duplex technique; 3) satellite broadcast communication systems. IAC’s research addresses a comprehensive range of topics including:
