The Engineering Technology Research Center for Broadband Coaxial Network (ETRCBCN) was founded in 2013 by State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) of China. The ETRCBCN is dedicated to speeding up the innovation, development, and standardization of the Ethernet over Cable (EoC) technology in China, which is co-setup and co-operated with the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science of Peking University and the Academy of Broadcasting Science of SAPPRFT. ETRCBCN’s faculty includes 3 full professors, 8 associate professors, 3 senior engineers, and 12 engineers.
The research at the ETRCBCN is focused on the advancement and application of EoC technologies. One major research topic is the HINOC (HIgh Performance Network over Coax) technology. ETRCBCN’s research addresses a comprehensive range of topics including:
(1) HINOC2.0 technology development and standardization
(2) HINOC2.0 technology RTL verification and chip production
(3) General test-bench development for EoC technologies
(4) EoC experimental network construction and applications
