State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks

The State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems & Networks was founded in June 1989. The laboratory is composed of two parts: Beijing branch at Peking University and Shanghai branch at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The laboratory acts as an interdisciplinary research center, and merges the groups from Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, and Physics of the two universities.

The laboratory has 17 full-professors, 9 associate professors, and 3 engineers. Among them, there are 2 Changjiang Professor, 2 fellows of OSA, 3 winners of Distinguished Young Scholars of NSFC, one chief scientist of National Basic Research Program, 1 winner of Changjiang Young Scholar. The mission of the laboratory is to pursue the basic science and technology innovation for optical communication. Major research areas include:

(3) Optoelectronic devices

(4) Photonic sensor and signal processing
