Wang, Yi is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and technology, School of EECS, and has served as the Institute of Microelectronics since 2002. He obtained his B.Sc. from Graduate School of Information Sciences, Tohoku University, Japan in 1997, and Ph.D. from Graduate School of Information Sciences, Tohoku University, Japan in 2000 respectively. His research interests include Oxide-diluted magnetic semiconductor materials and thin films,Oxide thin-films transistors and display.

Dr. Wang has published more than 50 research papers. Dr. Wang has more than five research projects including NSFC, 973 programs, 863 project, etc. His research achievements are summarized as follows:

1)  Diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMSs) have attracted much interest for potential applications in spintronics and microelectronics. It is very important to perform room-temperature ferromagnetism (RTFM) for the realizable applications of DMSs in microelectronic devices. He proposed hydrogenation-induce methods and material structures to facilitate observtion the origin of the RTFM in the Co-doped ZnO and TiO2 .

2)  Oxide thin-films transistors: Oxide thin film transistors are promising to be used as the drive device in pixel circuit for high mobility and uniformity. The hotspot now is to fabricate oxide TFTs with high performance and stability, the approaches are: novel structure and active layer material. He research ZnO-based TFTs to be applied to transparent display technology.
