Wang, Yang received the B.S. degree in applied physics and the M.S. degree in semiconductor physics and devices from Harbin Institute of Technology, and the Ph.D. in microelectronics and semiconductor devices from Tsinghua University, China, in 1982, 1986, and 1992, respectively. From 1982 to 1988 he was with the semiconductor physics and devices laboratory, Harbin Institute of Technology, China, as an Assistant Professor or Instructor. From 1992 to 1993 he did post-doctoral research at the Department of Computer science and technology, Peking University. From 1994 to Present he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Microelectronics, the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), Peking University. His main research interests include mixed-signal and analog microelectronics, integrated sensors, as well as neuromorphic chip.

Dr. WANG has published over 40 papers as the first author and authored two books on Design of CMOS Analog Integrated Circuits and Systems (including 12 chapters, and published the previous 7 chapters) and Design of Device Characteristic-Efficient Chips (unpublished). He received a United States Patent as co-inventor, "Artificial Neuron Element with Electrically Programmable Synaptic Weight for Neural Networks," US5444821, 1995. He was awarded the best student paper award of the Third International Conference on Solid State and Integrated Circuit Technology, 1992 and the best paper award of the Thirteenth National Semiconductor integrated circuit, silicon materials conference, 2003.

His mainly research achievements are summarized as followsBased on the holistic thinking method of the East, with the help of biological inspiration, he explores how to make full use of the characteristics of the device to construct an efficient system on chip.
