Xing, Yingjie is an associate professor in the Department of Electronics, School of EECS. He obtained his B.Sc. from Peking University in 1990, and Ph.D. from Peking University in 2003 respectively. His research interests include organic photovoltaic devices, and nanomaterials.

Dr. Xing has published more than 30 research papers. His dissertation was awarded the national excellent doctoral dissertation in China (2005).

Dr. Xing has two NSFC projects and joins some other research projects including 973 programs, National Key Research and Development Program, etc. His research achievements are summarized as follows:

1) Organic photovoltaic devices: One major research topic in organic electric field is the interfacial property in organic photovoltaic devices. He proposed a new method to measure the band bending in organic-organic heterojunction by field emission technique. He also proposed some new methods to improve the open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, and fill factor of organic photovoltaic devices separately.

2) Nanomaterials: Narrow bandgap III-V semiconductor nanowires are ideal candidates for infrared light generating and processing units, and quantum devices in future electronics. He proposed a new method with a high repeatability of almost one hundred percent to grow InSb and GaSb nanowires by a naturally cooling technique approach, and the ambipolar characteristic is measured from InSb nanowire-based FET.
