Gao, Song is a lecturer in the Department of Electronics, School of EECS since 2002. He obtained his B.E. from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University in 1990 and M.Sc. from the Institute of Physics, CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) in 1993 respectively. He was employed by Beijing Kedian High-Tech Corp, Institute of Electronics, CAS from 1993 to 1996. He was a research assistant in the group of Prof. Harald Fuchs, Muenster University,Germanysince 1997 and received his Ph.D. from Peking University in 2002. His research interests include nanoscience (major in nanoelectronics) and developing the SPM (scanning probe microscope) techniques.

Dr. Gao has published more than 30 research papers in peer reviewed journals and   top-tier international conferences. He is also serving as a course manager of the electronic circuit experiments in which 9 teachers to participate in this course. He was awarded Teaching Achievement Award of Peking University (2004), Scientific and Technological Progress Awards of CAS and Ministry of Education (1995).

Dr. Gao involves 7 research projects including NSFC, 973 programs, 863 project, etc. He attempts to combine scanning probe methods with nanoelectronics to study the mechanical and electrical response of nano-materials by AFM technology; he also uses the professional background of electronic engineering to solve the problems of nano-materials research and characterization. In addition, he now also manages and maintains a team of more than 50 people for using AFM instruments.
